Wireless temperature monitoring manufacturer, Monika, has restructured its UK business, resulting in the MD role no longer existing. Therefore the former MD, Simon Frost, has departed the business.
Frost spent 2 years at Monika and until November was the chairman of CESA. He has also had stints at Wexiodisk, Manitowoc and Falcon Foodservice Equipment. His LinkedIn profile states he is currently taking time out to consider new opportunities.
At Monika, Frost created a dedicated team which has overseen growth across the UK and, in doing so, the company believes he has raised awareness of the importance of effective temperature and task monitoring in all types of catering establishment.
On his departure, Tim Gamble, founder and executive chairman commented: “In an effort to sustain the significant growth that we have experienced over the past 2 years across the Monika business globally, we are implementing an internal business restructure. Regrettably, the role of UK MD is not appropriate to this new structure and therefore we can confirm that Simon Frost is no longer with the business. We would like to thank Simon for his significant contribution to the ongoing success of the business and wish him all the very best as he takes on new opportunities.”
Following growth of 33% across the globe in the last financial year and with similar results expected for the current trading period, the restructure will also involve changes to the way the company is governed and run on a day-to-day basis.
This means that Gamble will continue to oversee the business. The company says the changes are enabling it to focus on sales and customer service, amid wider plans for continued growth in key territories and regions around the world, including sister businesses in Dubai and Australia, which are aimed at giving the firm prime position to engage with the latest technological developments globally.
To this end, Monika’s technical facility is being expanded under its technical manager Simon Wood and has been relocated in new premises adjacent to the Brook Park, Rearsby, head office.
Monika’s UK sales will be driven by Rag Hulait who has been promoted to UK director of sales. Hulait has been with the company for 20 years, and as a sales executive has been instrumental in Monika’s development in the temperature and food safety field. As part of the changes, Mark Millership has also been appointed as group finance director.
Gamble added: “2017 is set to be an exciting year for Monika, as we look to further develop our systems and services, continuing to deliver the exceptional support and knowledge of wireless temperature monitoring and total food safety solutions demanded by our customers around the world.”
