Signature FSE has struck an import arrangement that will see it supply equipment from French heavy duty cooking equipment brand Capic to the UK market.
Capic becomes the eighth brand that Signature represents in the UK — and its first in modular cooking — and will be overseen by newly-appointed brand manager Graham Russell.
Capic manufactures a wide range of heavy duty professional cooking equipment including fryers, open burners, griddles, bratt pans and boiling pans.
The family-owned business has been building prime cooking equipment since 1955 but while it is a recognised brand in its home market it has never actively attempted to develop a business in the UK.
Signature intends to develop a regional distribution network for the brand, starting with an appearance at next month’s Restaurant Show where distributors will have an opportunity to check the kit out for themselves.
Russell, who has an extensive background in the catering market, including four years at Dawson and six years at Foodservice Solution Group, told Catering Insight that Signature will be offering Capic’s 700, 800, 900 and 1000 series, as well as a cantilevered range.
“The Capic modular cooking equipment range is an ideal fit alongside the other brands that Signature FSE represents,” he said. “I am delighted to have joined the team as Capic brand manager and look forward to developing the business with this innovative product built on traditional values.”
