South Wales-based Shine Catering Systems has been recognised as the most sustainable manufacturer at this year’s Made in Wales Awards.
The distributor won out of a shortlist of three in the Green/Sustainable Manufacturer category at the event, which took place last week at Cardiff City Hall.
The awards, which were designed to celebrate the achievements of Welsh companies in manufacturing, design and product development, recognise business across all sectors and sizes.
“The award recognises the company’s efforts in sustainability and carbon reduction within the manufacturing industry, this achievement underlines the importance of the reduction of fossil fuel use within our business,” said Shine’s sales and marketing co-ordinator Sara Hunneysett.
“We strive to achieve a more positive environmental impact by investing in new technologies and innovation, the next step for the company is the investment in R&D, to help our clients, past and future, achieve their goals of a lower carbon footprint and a more sustainable future within the catering industry. Chris Hinton and Lee McArdle attended the award ceremony and proudly accepted the award on behalf of the whole company.”
Shine was also shortlisted for manufacturing/apprenticeship training scheme and manufacturer of the year in the under £25m turnover category.
