Service 2000 builds kitchen for Brick Lane bakery

Service 2000 has fitted a kitchen at Morena Bakery, a new start-up business located just off London’s Brick Lane.

The patisserie is based in a converted Victorian shop, which meant the site required extensive cosmetic and infrastructure remodelling before it was ready to commence business.

Morena hired Radford Chancellor Ltd for kitchen design and equipment specification, and one of its first tasks was to redesign a basement space into a food preparation area compliant with all modern safety and hygiene regulations.

It also used CAD tools maximise storage and working space, enabling Morena to accommodate all the equipment required in a bakery and cake making operation.

With the design approved, the consultancy Ltd took charge of sourcing the most appropriate and reliable equipment via a competitive bidding process.

Space constraints meant that a number of items had to be custom built prior to Gateshead-based Service 2000 carrying out the installation work.
