Bistrot Pierre, the independently owned restaurant group, is to open a second South West site within the new £12m Abbey Sands landmark on Torquay’s seafront.
The group is looking to recruit up to 60 members of staff in Torquay, which is due to open in mid to late August. At full capacity the restaurant will run over 200 covers in one night.
The restaurant hasn’t stated who will be fitting its kitchen facilities, but said the site will have a large bar area downstairs offering customers a more casual dining experience. Upstairs the restaurant will feature a Seafood menu with the star of the show dish being the Fruits de Mer.
Last year the company opened a bistrot in Plymouth’s Royal William Yard, which has proved immensely popular with customers.
“Our collection of bistrots deliver affordable French gastronomy using carefully sourced, authentic, ingredients that change with the seasons,” said Rob Beacham, co-founder of Bistrot Pierre.
“Each bistrot is styled a little differently to complement the building it is in but, while our look changes between each bistrot, customers must be able to expect the same personal, attentive service and high quality provincial French food wherever they choose to dine with us.”
