The surplus catering equipment team at Ramco disposals has seen a dramatic rise in its foodservice business during the last few months, with a variety of interesting projects.
The second hand appliance specialist has seen foodservice sales increase by over 50% during April to August 2018, compared to the same period in 2017.
Outside its contracted work in the defence sector its new foodservice clients have totalled 12, which represents 50% of the company’s total new business gains for 2018.
MD Neil Sanderson commented: “Our focus on the food and drink sector is seeing results. We estimate the second hand catering equipment market to be worth £250m and growing, with new technology, smarter kitchens and CSR the key drivers.”
The firm reports that operators and distributors alike have been seeking to dispose of unwanted assets in an increasingly environmentally responsible way.
Ramco manages this process with collection, recycling and marketing of the equipment, then providing a share of the cash.
At its premises in Skegness, the 20-year-old Ramco business believes it has plenty of available storage and an experienced team who can manage the whole process from strip out to sale.
Next on Ramco’s agenda this autumn are projects with hospitality, healthcare and consumer brands.
