Scottish jails need kitchen kit maintained

The Scottish Prison Service is searching for services partners to ensure catering equipment used in jails across the country is kept in tiptop condition.

The SPS is currently accepting requests to participate in a tender that will see it appoint one or more suppliers that can provide catering equipment maintenance services throughout its estate.

The prison service requires its kitchen kit to be “fully operational at all times” and said the nominated suppliers will support this by providing planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance services.

The contract is split into four lots based on the North, Central, West and East regions of Scotland.

In total it encompasses 14 separate prison as well as other sites belonging to the SPS, including its HQ.

The deadline for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is next week.
