Scottish dealers fight it out for £210,000 education contract

Fast Fixx Catering Engineers is one of two dealers competing for North Lanarkshire Council’s latest catering equipment contract.

North Lanarkshire Council has revealed on the Public Contracts Scotland website the dealers in the running for its latest procurement contract.

The council’s facility support services wishes to upgrade and increase various catering facilities within its education establishments.

It is hoped that by improving and/or increasing these facilitates it will assist with the 1,140-hour Nursery Expansion Programme by providing young children with hot meals and snacks, in accordance with the Children & Young People (Scotland) Act 2014.

In order to meet these requirements the council is required to purchase a range of cooking equipment including combination ovens, dishwashers and refrigeration units.

The £210,000 (excluding VAT) direct award has been made via the Scotland Excel framework agreement for the supply, delivery and installation of commercial catering equipment.

Two dealers submitted tenders: Electrical Catering Services of Wishaw and Glasgow-based Fast Fixx Catering Engineers.

North Lanarkshire Council will now review each bid and decide on who gains the contract.
