Scott Robinson takes on Ideal role

Scott Robinson has joined Norfolk-based Ideal Catering Solutions as its new director, taking over from Iain Addison.

“With my involvement in Vito oil filters taking up most of my time these days I was unable to dedicate enough time to Ideal Catering Solutions and needed to find a suitable person to take up this mantel,” said Addison.

“Scott and I go back about 20 years working for various distributors and manufacturers and we crossed each other’s paths a few times as suppliers and customers of each other.

“I employed Scott on a consultancy basis to run the project side of Ideal Catering. Over the last eight months the company got so busy that Scott ended up just doing Ideal work and I proposed the idea of him becoming a director of the business.

“I knew he would be the perfect to man to take forward Ideal Catering Solutions whilst I build up the Vito brand.”

Robinson was previously a sales manager for Fagor Industrial from 2006 to 2012, after which he established his own consultancy business, SPR Foodservice.

In his new role, Robinson will be responsible for project management, kitchen design, working with clients and meeting with planning authorities – covering everything that is needed to design and fit a commercial catering kitchen

Addison reported: “Scott saw the opportunity to join a family business and take it to new levels as well as owning a 50% share of the company whilst doing this.”

Robinson’s immediate plans will be to establish a strong commercial platform for the business to grow profitably and steadily whilst maintaining a personal touch to clients.
