Hubbard Ice Machines has launched two new pieces of Scotsman equipment capable of making extra large 60g ice cubes.
The MC46 and MC1210 modular machines sit on top of separate ice storage bins and can produce a size of ice cube that would be unfathomable to most catering establishments.
Hubbard says that where machines have typically produced 8g and 20g ‘supercubes’, the two Scotsman icemakers can make a 60g ‘super-supercube’.
“The super-supercube is the epitome of cool,” said Simon Aspin, commercial director of Hubbard Ice Systems. “It will appeal to chic bars, restaurants and hotels looking for a way to stand apart from the crowd, who want to make a real statement about the quality and style of their drinks service.”
The MC46 is capable of producing up to 300kg of ice per day, while the MC1210 can make 660kg. The cubes are made by spraying water up into inverted cups, meaning impurities drop out to leave the ice clear, hard and long-lasting.
