Frima has announced that sales of its flagship VarioCooking Center have now surpassed 10,000 units since its launch seven years ago.
The company hit the magic number earlier this month, with the milestone unit dispatched from its factory in Wittenheim, France.
The figure means that on average it is now shifting more than 1,400 units a year.
The VarioCooking Center is a multifunctional cooking appliance that combines all the functions of a fryer, griddle, bratt pan, kettle, titling pan and pressure cooker in one unit. It can be used for boiling, roasting, griddling and frying.
Vic Brown, managing director of Frima UK, said that commercial users of the system range from large-scale kitchens producing up to 40,000 meals to leading fine dining restaurants.
“Its resounding success can be seen throughout the foodservice market, both in the cost and profit sectors,” he said.
Earlier this month, parent company Rational hailed Frima’s “signification contribution” to its top line after reporting group sales of £160m for the first half of the year.
“A lot of our growth is due to customers being able to test the VarioCooking Center Multificiency before they make their purchasing decision,” insists Brown. “And once they have experienced the fantastic speed, versatility and perfect cooking results, the extremely short pay-back time is an additional bonus.”
He added that the firm believes there is still plenty of room for expansion in its core European markets.
“We are still experiencing fast growth rates with the VarioCooking Center in our main markets such as Germany, France, Benelux and Switzerland, and in the UK there is growing interest as caterers become aware of the advantages of this hi-tech appliance,” he said.
