Safeguard employee scales Kilimanjaro for charity

Oldham-based catering equipment distributor Safeguard has had one of its employees reach both summits of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Education community and sales lead Ben Ingham completed the climb yesterday, raising money for his local youth charity, Mahdlo.

Despite suffering from altitude sickness Ingham stood on top of the highest free standing mountain in the world, a feat made more impressive as he had not even donned a pair of walking boots prior to this.

Donations so far are in excess of £1,600 but pledges have already topped Ingham’s fundraising target of £3,000.

Safeguard is planning a celebration on Sunday at Springbank Pub in Chadderton to welcome Ingham back.
