Smartcool Systems has been awarded accreditation from safecontractor for its commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety.
The Hampshire-based outfit expects the certification to enhance its ability to attract new contracts from leading UK firms who only work with contractors with this level of qualification.
Smartcool is an energy efficiency provider that focuses on lowering the electrical consumption of customers’ commercial refrigeration and other systems, such as air conditioning units, through retrofit solutions. This includes its own ECO3 and ESM products.
The firm claims that its products reduce the energy consumption of compressors in refrigeration by 15% to 20%, giving customers a return on investment in 12 to 36 months.
Steven Martin, executive VP of Smartcool, said: “This not only gives our existing customers an added level of comfort in working with us, but will also give us a competitive edge in approaching major new accounts across the UK.”
Under the safecontractor scheme, businesses undergo a rigorous review process which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the high standard are included in a database for clients.
Over 170 major national businesses from several key sectors have signed up to use the scheme when selecting contractors for services including electrical and mechanical work.
