Rubbermaid first with commercial foodservice line

Rubbermaid Commercial Products has launched a BPA-free commercial foodservice product line.

The company claims the range is the “first of its kind to market” and is a result of its collaboration with Eastman Chemical Company, producer of Tritan copolyester, a durable material free from Bisphenol A (BPA).

Rubbermaid claims the timing of the launch is particularly apt given that legislation relating to products containing Bisphenol A (BPA) is becoming increasingly stringent throughout Europe.

The firm says it has “invested heavily” in the range, which meets the standards required by commercial kitchens for preparing, serving, storing and transporting food safely.

Product testing of the range saw it withstand washing in commercial dishwashers without cracking, resistance to heat and harsh detergents.

US-based Rubbermaid Commercial Products (RCP) is part of Newell Rubbermaid’s global portfolio of brands.
