Stoke-on-Trent-based distributor, Ritchie Catering Equipment, recently completed a project for well-known food blogger, Thom Bateman.
The Flintlock at Cheddleton is Bateman’s first restaurant, building on social media success which saw him achieved a following of 20,000 followers on Instagram with his food blog ‘bboxfood’.
Ritchie’s first visited Bateman in July, and subsequently the order was placed at the beginning of August.
The distributor was asked to design an area that not only used classical cooking equipment such as chargrill, range and fryers provided by Blue Seal, Bateman also wanted to use habatchi grill and state of the art combination cooking with Rational’s iCombi Pro. Sous vide cooking and vacuum packing equipment was supplied by Sammic.
The design was finalised after just 3 revisions and installed over a period of 4 days at the beginning of September.
Ritchie’s also supplied chefs equipment, a range of tableware including Churchill, DPS Tableware and also Utopia glassware.
The distributor’s MD, David Ritchie, said: “The restaurant opened to fantastic reviews and amazing success. Ritchie’s are very proud to be involved with what will the first of many successful restaurants opened by Thom.”
