Ritchie Catering Equipment has completed an installation at Sheffield Wednesday’s Middlewood Road training ground.
The project, which had to be completed in a limited time due to the short period between the end of the last football season and the beginning of the new season, took a total of 6 weeks, culminating in the five-day install last week.
The football club had approached Ritchies with the project of transforming a former gym space into a catering area where food will be prepared and served to players and staff.
This included the addition of a new wall complete with a serving window, with the area being lined with hygienic wall and flooring.
It also involved the design and manufacture of a brand new extraction unit and walk in chiller, the latter of which was completed with help from Nottingham-based refrigeration firm Storer.
The new equipment installed in the space included two 10 grid Rational combi ovens, a Lincat Opus 800 cookline, a servery provided by Incat Panther and warewashing equipment from Maidaid Halcyon.
The project was undertaken in close collaboration with Sheffield Wednesday’s executive chef Rob Cox.
