Catering equipment wholesaler RH Hall has kicked off its annual search for Britain’s BBQ champion.
The company, which is a supplier of the Crown Verity commercial BBQ brand, hosts an event every summer where chefs from all walks of the foodservice industry pit their wits against one another in a live cooking environment.
To gain a place in the competition, entrants must devise and submit a 3-course BBQ menu that takes a spin on British favourites before Friday 2 May 2014.
Entries will be shortlisted by the president of the British BBQ Association and Britain’s Best BBQer at the World BBQ Championships, Ben Bartlett.
The eight shortlisted chefs will be invited to compete for the title at a live BBQ cook-off final on 18 June at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, where they will have to create their 3-courses within a one-hour time frame.
The winner will walk away with a £3,000 Crown Verity BBQ plus, while thousands of pounds’ worth of other prizes will be supplied by RH Hall for the finalists, including LED TVs and chefs’ products.
Entries can be made via the event website here.
