RH Hall is predicting 2014 will herald an upturn in fortunes for the catering equipment market based on the improving picture it has seen throughout this year.

Managing director, Ray Hall, said there were plenty of signs to suggest conditions are improving, while more supply opportunities were opening up as larger end-user groups were loosening the purse strings.

Writing in the company’s December newsletter, Hall said: “Our business partners’ market feedback has, in the main, been very positive, with the overall foodservice market experiencing some good solid growth for the third consecutive quarter.

“And this has certainly been our experience and while there is still a way to go before we saw the growth and results that we are all working so hard towards, it would seem that the foodservice market is faring well and the outlook is very promising for 20104.”

Hall said the Bedfordshire-based company’s fabrication business, Simply Stainless, had also taken off this year and cited the second quarter as the start of the resurgence.

“During the past eight months in particular, we have experienced a lot more contract opportunities opening up and it would seem that major group budgets are starting to be released at last,” he wrote.
