French tableware manufacturer Revol has launched the Caractère collection, especially created for the company’s 250th anniversary.
Designed by celebrated French interior architect and designer Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, the new range is said to blend 250 years of manufacturing experience with meticulous craftsmanship.
Each piece features a unique accent line, created by removing the enamel by hand to reveal the raw clay underneath. This is designed to create a contrast of smooth and organic textures, which combines with an irregular interior contour to give a ‘distinctive elemental finish’.
A straight exterior wall enables convenient stacking, and the elevated base creates an illusion of the dish floating above the table.
The Caractère collection includes plates, bowls, coffee cups, saucers, a large vase, serving dishes and a circular centrepiece. The heights of the plates differ according to their diameter to bring an individual feel to the tabletop.
As well as cumulus white, six spice-inspired shades are available. Caractère is manufactured from Revol’s signature non-porous culinary porcelain, which features thermal retention properties, complies with food safety standards, is dishwasher safe and is designed to be durable.
The collection will be on display at the Catering Equipment Expo within The Restaurant Show on 1-3 October at London’s Olympia, on the Pro Foodservice Reps stand, UH29.
