Regale Microwave Ovens has added a new model to its offering that it is adamant will fill a hole in the market.

The company says the launch of Daewoo’s 1100 watt ‘One Touch’ unit fills the gap between manual microwaves, which are not always precise enough, and touch control microwaves, which can offer more features and complexity than is sometimes needed.

“This latest innovative offering from Daewoo is fantastic because it is such an easy to use microwave,” said Pat Bray, managing director of Regale. “Just put the food in, press the button once for 30 seconds and the microwave starts, showing the time countdown on its digital display. Press the button twice for one minute and so on up to a maximum of five minutes.”

Bray said the ‘One Touch’, which has a list price of £299 before VAT, offers a simple, precise option which lends itself to self-serve and vending environments, as well as the more traditional low volume areas of a commercial kitchen.

The single button also doubles as a start button if the microwave door is opened and closed during the heating process.

This will avoid the oven restarting automatically when the door is closed with no food inside, which can cause damage to the microwave.
