Regale invention up for innovation award

Regale Microwave Ovens has made it to the final of a regional business competition honouring companies which innovate in their market place.

The firm’s cavity liner, which is sold through its Cavity Protection Systems business, has been shortlisted in the Innovation of the Year category of the Business Excellence Awards, hosted by The Portsmouth News.

Regale will find out on Friday if it has won the competition when the awards are held at the city’s Guildhall. It is up against an IT firm and a company that delivers road safety programmes to schoolchildren.

As well as the innovation award, Regale is in the running for Small/Medium Sized Business of the Year prize.

Regale developed the removable cavity liner as a way for operators to be able to clean microwaves with minimum fuss. The system can be pot washed and inserted back into the microwave in less than two minutes, saving time on cleaning and helping to reduce repair bills.

“There are currently over 10,000 cavity liners in the market place and they have become a must for busy pubs and restaurants,” revealed managing director Pat Bray earlier this year.

“Regale is proud that all models of the cavity liner, which are available for the high-powered compact ranges from Panasonic, Daewoo and Sharp, are manufactured in England and have NSF worldwide certification.”
