Story continues below

After over 30 wonderful years at RH Hall it is now time for me hang up my boots.

Back in 1987, fresh out of school and with a company turnover of just under £1m I started working at RH Hall.

During this time I have carried out just about every role within the business and worked alongside my very close friend and co-director Ray Hall to help build the business up to a peak of £13m+.

My decision has nothing to do with the current Covid crisis, far from it, we have been working on our new structure and this transition since July 2019.

During the last year we have implemented several in house promotions – Duncan Vipas to head of sales and purchasing, Emma Smith to head of marketing and Tracy Barry to head of finance and operations. Now is the time to hand over the baton to Duncan and the respective heads in their roles – what a dynamic team you are and congratulations to you all!

I am immensely proud of my time at RH Hall – I’ve enjoyed every minute of it and we have progressed a lot as individuals and as a company. I really appreciate the opportunities that have been given to me by my co-directors, the shareholders and the company; although it’s sad to be saying farewell, I couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved together and have utmost confidence that RH Hall will continue to go from strength to strength.

Thanks to my co-director Ray Hall and all of our staff for your amazing support, our customers and suppliers (many of you I now count as good friends) – and equally as important – this wonderful industry we all work in – without it we wouldn’t be where we are today and it really is one of the best out there!

I look forward to catching up with you all before my final day here on 30 September.

It’s been a blast, now for some time out and travelling!

Keep well, keep safe and thank you.

I remember the day we first met at that tiny RH Hall office in Watford in 1995. You and Ray were a key part of the Merrychef UK sales strategy back then as we laid the foundations to take ‘speed cooking’ to new heights in the 2000’s. We had some cracking laughs too!!! Take care my friend and do keep in touch. Graham
