RDA designed new counters for BaxterStorey’s B&I client.

RDA has completed a business and industry sector project it was appointed to by caterer BaxterStorey.

The kitchen design house was tasked with introducing a new catering and dining space and aligning this to a new office space being developed by BaxterStorey’s client business.

It called for a modern and flexible area that could be adapted based on need, from daily lunch service to large functions and fine dining evenings.

The client brief included creating a new, more compact kitchen area as well as customer-focused counters and a welcoming and contemporary front-of-house space.

RDA feels its ability to coordinate and manage the entire design and build process as well as deliver against a challenging schedule was key to its appointment. The team reportedly worked throughout to deliver a slick and cohesive process, while remaining adaptable as the scope of the project increased and evolved.

Behind the scenes, the team installed a new dishwash system with a Meiko hood-type dishwasher and Williams Refrigeration cabinets. Front-of-house, RDA worked closely with Proline and fitted hot and cold display units as part of the main servery counter and left space for the Electrolux Libero Chef’s Theatre Unit and Merrychef ovens.

RDA created a high-end design for this staff dining project.

The overall finish was high-end, with statement Scandi-inspired furniture, neutral colours and marble-effect Dekton worktops with built-in hot and cold counters. The result is designed to be a stylish, modern space which allows employees to grab food or a drink on the go or spend more time relaxing in luxurious surroundings.

RDA’s senior consultant John Fitzgibbon said: “Once again, RDA’s multi-solution approach delivered on time and on budget, illustrating the significant advantages for clients of having an extensive skills base under one roof. The photos of the finished project and the client’s reaction really do speak for themselves.”

BaxterStorey general manager Marius Vermaak commented: “Having RDA on board throughout the project has been invaluable.

“John and the RDA team were able to work within our brief to deliver an innovative and modern restaurant that truly complements the new office space. RDA incorporated new technology whilst ensuring our catering team has all the tools necessary to deliver the standard of service our client expects. Overall, it’s a fantastic space to be working in and serving from.”
