RDA outfitted WH Smith’s first Costa Coffee outlet, at The Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital.

Design and installation company, RDA was recently appointed by WH Smith to help create its first ever fully licensed Costa, at The Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital.

RDA’s team of designers worked with the high street retailer to enhance the existing Proud to Serve Costa within the hospital into a fully licensed Costa, which is operated under franchise by WH Smith.

All equipment was Costa specified and included: a Merrychef oven, undercounter fridges, microwaves, water boiler, coffee machines, upright fridges and multi-decks.

The interior fit-out was based on Costa’s brand and specification with a modern and vibrant look and feel and state of the art equipment.

Installation involved a complete remodel including the removal of equipment from the existing cafe. The result is said to be a fresh and contemporary space located in the hospital’s main entrance, ready to serve the thousands of patients, staff and visitors.

Nick Bradley, director at RDA said: “We were delighted to work with WH Smith and help them to bring their new Costa store to The Royal Blackburn, offering a fresh and welcoming look and feel for the hospital community.”
