Design and installation company RDA was recently appointed by Aramark Northern Europe to help create the first ever Jamie Oliver’s Deli in the University sector, at Robert Gordon University (RGU) in Aberdeen.
RDA’s designers worked closely with Jamie Oliver’s brand team and Aramark to bring the new deli to life. Installation involved considerable re-modelling, combining two existing units, which RDA originally installed in 2013, into one.
For the kitchen equipment installation, RDA worked with the client to specify the appropriate equipment. This included a Unox combi oven, Williams refrigeration units, Thermodyne hot hold unit, Counterline hot and cold multidecks, a Merrychef oven and MCS Technical Products induction units.
The interior fit out was based on the Jamie Oliver brand and specification. RDA’s team installed an eclectic mix of styles, including a suspended ceiling, timber wall panelling, modern tiling and feature lighting throughout. Chilled and heated multi-decks were also installed to cater for the predominantly “grab and go” offer.
Nick Bradley, design director at RDA, said: “We are delighted to be able to help Aramark bring the first Jamie Oliver’s Deli to the University sector. It was a pleasure to be able to work with such a prestigious brand as Jamie Oliver and to be able to help bring innovative, delicious and nutritious food to the campus community at Robert Gordon University.”
Deborah Burnside, director of operations Aramark Northern Europe added: “We are always looking at ways to make healthy eating on campus a simple and easy choice. We are delighted with the new Jamie Oliver’s Deli and the beautiful space RDA has created for the campus community at Robert Gordon University.”
