As part of a programme of expansion, kitchen design house RDA has made a key addition to its Gateshead team.
The company has recently experienced a significant increase in new enquiries and has responded with a recruitment plan. A key appointment in this plan is for a new project estimator.
Based at the new head office in Gateshead, Lucy Brown has taken up this role. During this time of growth for the company, she should be well placed to support the commercial team at RDA as they respond to new enquiries.
Brown brings with her almost a decade of experience in the industry, with roots in design. After studying for a degree in interior architecture in Leeds, she began her career as a CAD operator for Stellex, before moving on to Crosby’s as a designer and estimator and then to CNG Foodservice, where she took up a role as a project designer and estimator.
In her new role at RDA, Brown will assist with pricing up new design and project enquiries. She will also be heavily involved in the procurement of goods and services as well as helping with supply chain management and cost management with ongoing projects.
She said: “Design is my passion and I’m delighted to be working for such a vibrant company. RDA are well-known in the industry, and they’ve been on my radar for a while. They strike the perfect balance between being a family-run business and being forward-thinking innovators.
“I’m excited to take my career to the next level with RDA and learn more about how turnkey projects come to fruition. I’m happy to be working with like-minded, energetic people.”
Director, Alex Bradley said: “Before the pandemic hit we were already beginning to diversify into workspace and interior design in addition to the hospitality projects we’d always worked on. Covid just sped this process up a little. And now hospitality is ramping up again, business is better than ever.
“We’re delighted to welcome Lucy to the team. She has great experience in the industry and already knows a lot of our regular suppliers. The role of project estimator provides a key link between design and operations.”
Other roles RDA has in the pipeline are for a new designer, a project manager, and an accounts administrator.
