A state-of-the-art iVario cooking unit that was given away by Rational at the 2022 Catering Insight Awards is set to benefit a worthwhile charitable cause, it has emerged.
Rational was the headline partner for this year’s event and ran a special competition titled ‘Do you have the winning combination?’
Eagle-eyed attendees who spotted the iVario 2-S P as they entered the ballroom of the Royal Leonardo Hotel, Tower Bridge quickly learned that one of them would be walking away with the unit at the end of the night.
To stand a chance of winning, guests simply had to enter a four-digit code on their namecard into a safe next to the iVario, with HCS’ Kirstin Hatherley-Bramwell successfully unlocking it to claim the prize.
Colin Parry, national sales director at Rational, said: “This is another first for us – where we have given away such a significant prize, the Rational iVario 2-S P. The competition certainly added to the event‘s excitement, in what turned out to be a evening of winners.
“On behalf of the team at Rational, congratulations to Kirstin Hatherley-Bramwell of Hatherley Commercial Services who had the winning combination. I understand that it’s Kirstin‘s intention to donate the prize to charity. We are delighted to hear this – making the evening even all the more special.”
This year was the first time that Rational UK has been a headline partner of the Catering Insight Awards.
Mr Parry said it was hugely valuable to engage with dealers and show its appreciation for their support.
“The gala evening was a great success, in both recognising and celebrating the award winners, and having the opportunity to thank our partners and customers for their continued support, particularly during the past months, where like many others within our industry we had experienced product supply chain challenges.
“For me, personally the highlight of the evening was John Whitehouse receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. We have had a great partnership with John over the years and look forward to retaining this with First Choice. I wish John a wonderful and well-deserved retirement.”
