Rational’s compact combi oven deployed for live cook-off

Rational is sponsoring The Staff Canteen Live at this year’s ScotHot exhibition, which is taking place March 13-14, 2019 at the SEC in Glasgow.

On stage, the participating chefs have the opportunity to prepare their dishes in the Rational SelfCookingCenter XS model.

Although it is the smallest unit in Rational’s combi oven range, it has all the SelfCookingCenter key functions, which the company says ensures “excellent quality and maximum efficiency” within a space measuring 55.5cm deep and 65.5cm wide.

Rational will be sponsoring the following demonstrations: Chef Peter McKenna, The Gannet, Finnieston, Glasgow, Wednesday 13 March at 11am and Chef Patron Jonathan MacDonald, Ox & Finch, Glasgow, on stage Thursday 14 March at 11am.

Additionally, on the Rational stand 4510 at ScotHot there will be a selection of Rational kitchen solutions which will be showcased by Rational’s chefs, who will explain how, in ‘tomorrow’s kitchen’, chefs can use the VarioCookingCenter and SelfCookingCenter.

The VarioCookingCenter (VCC) combines the functions of a fryer, kettle, griddle, bratt pan, pressure cooker and tilting pan in one unit, saving up to 30% of space in the kitchen.

At the ScotHot, Rational will be presenting two VCC models, the VCC 112T, a twin-pan, compact unit ideal for smaller kitchens, and the VCC 211+, a single pan unit that can cook up to 300 meals a day.

The SelfCookingCenter (SCC), is designed to reduce staff time and power consumption and its iLevelControl makes it possible to cook different dishes simultaneously in the same unit.

Rational will also be showcasing its ConnectedCooking feature which makes it possible for staff to check operational efficiency remotely, improving kitchen safety, and allows chefs to upload new programs and recipes.
