Rational UK’s office has received a special visit from its CEO Dr Peter Stadelmann in honour of its performance over the last 12 months.
The combi manufacturer’s UK division topped all other global subsidiaries for sales growth in 2014 as its business grew by double figures.
Rational was one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) scheme, as primary schools procured new ovens, while sales into the private sector also rocketed during the year.
“This award is particularly special given that we beat those fast-growing emerging countries like China and India, along with the USA,” said Rational UK’s managing director Lee Norton. “Of course, the UIFSM programme was an important factor in achieving this and, on top of that, our private sector business achieved exceptional growth of 20%.”
Dr Stadelmann travelled to the firm’s Luton offices earlier this month to present the UK team with the award.
Norton added that he wished to thank all the dealers and consultants that Rational works with and without whom its success would not have been possible.
“It has been great to see how our dealer partners have embraced both our product and sales strategy to ensure we continue to grow the market for combi steamers in the UK,” he commented.
Rational’s UK performance was also highlighted by the company when it released its last set of quarterly results back in November.
At the time, Stadelmann called the UK business “especially positive” and told investors that the UIFSM scheme had “prompted many schools to equip their kitchens and choose our appliances to do so”.
