Rational has postponed a major gathering of key dealers planned for the end of this month due to coornavirus – but vowed to find a new date as soon as possible.
The combi oven maker hasn’t publicly detailed what it planned to unveil at the ‘More Tour’ event, which was set to take place in Newport on 26 March, but dealers and key account customers from around the UK were due to attend.
In an email sent to partners yesterday, Rational MD Simon Lohse said the wellbeing of partners, guests and employees was its top priority.
“As you are most likely already informed, there is a great concern about the risk of infection and spread of the Covid-19 virus. At Rational, the wellbeing of our stakeholders is top priority, whilst we do not want to create any panic, we do want to ensure that we minimise any risk of exposing customers, partners and employees to this virus,” he wrote.
Mr Lohse said that Rational was currently working on rescheduling the event and will send out revised invitations once the new date has been selected.
In its original invite, Rational had hinted that it would be launching something that challenges conventional kitchen standards.
“Who sets the standard for a professional kitchen – and why does it have to look a particular way?” read the invite. “Taking this into consideration along with current trends and requirements, we have further developed the standard; with one goal in mind – to make professional kitchens of this world more intelligent, more efficient and more productive.”
