Specialist surplus equipment handler Ramco Foodservices is returning to the Casual Dining Show at London’s ExCel on 27-28 February after witnessing a spike of sales of surplus catering equipment.
A sales increase of 50% has cemented Ramco’s confidence that there is growing interest in reusing surplus catering equipment, and that its ‘cash it, don’t scrap it’ mantra is resonating with the market.
Launched in early 2017, Ramco Foodservices operates nationally, and estimates that the second-hand catering equipment market could be worth £250m.
It has credited the drive in demand for its services to operators being more aware of the environmental benefits of not scrapping surplus equipment.
Paul Fieldhouse, business development manager for Ramco said: “Operators and distributors alike have been seeking to dispose of unwanted assets in an increasingly environmentally responsible way. With CSR and compliance high on the agenda, people are recognising that there is a better solution than reusable assets ending up as scrap.
“At Ramco, we create an opportunity for operators and distributors to benefit financially as we manage the process seamlessly, with collection, recycling and marketing of the equipment, then a share of the cash.”
At the Casual Dining Show 2019, Ramco Foodservices will be presenting all the information about its bespoke catering equipment disposal service for the casual dining and eating out sector.
There will also be a £100 Amazon Voucher up for grabs for people who take part in a short survey at its stand, A28. The winner will be announced at the end of the show.
