Ramco continues sustainability conversation with FEA

FEA’s Keith Warren discussed with Ramco the challenge of sustainability for foodservice equipment suppliers.

Ramco Foodservices, specialist in the disposal of surplus catering equipment, has issued the latest video in its ‘Kitchen Conversations’, featuring an interview with Keith Warren, the chief executive of the Foodservice Equipment Association (FEA).

The Kitchen Conversations series provides a platform for hospitality leaders to discuss how the sector is responding to sustainability issues.

In the video, Warren discusses the challenge of sustainability for foodservice equipment suppliers, as well as the need for clearer quality standards across the industry.

He said: “The biggest sustainability problem affecting the hospitality sector is this big issue of the circular economy: what it actually means and bringing that down to the operational level. Of course, it will mean different things to different people, so the challenge is integrating that knowledge and expertise to find the solution that’s needed.

“We also need to look at standards for the industry, against which it can measure performance. There is a lot the industry needs to do to provide the operator with better information to help them make a more informed decision on what they buy and why they are buying it.”

The FEA represents the foodservice equipment supply chain sector and has more than 190 members across the industry, including manufacturers, importers, designers and service companies.
