Foodservice consultancy Radford Chancellor Ltd has recent started work with the Havant Academy, a mixed secondary school located in the Leigh Park area of Havant in the English county of Hampshire.
The school is situated at the edge of Staunton Country Park. Previously known as Wakeford Comprehensive School, it gained specialist Sports College status and was renamed Staunton Community Sports College
It then became a foundation school administered by Hampshire County Council. The school converted to academy status on 1 September 2010 and was renamed Havant Academy, becoming the first academy in Hampshire. It is sponsored by the Kemnal Academies Trust.
The consultancy’s project co-ordination manager, James Bailey, will be leading the scheme.
This follows a number of projects Radford Chancellor has undertaken over the last 18 months for TKAT (The Kemnal Academies Trust) schools, one of the largest multi-academy trusts in the south of England with over 40 primary and secondary academies in the TKAT family.
The consultancy advised them on catering, procurement of caterers and contract support and monitoring, as well as helping several TKAT schools in finding new contract caters to provide a school meal service for their students and staff. During this process the consultancy guided the schools through a full EU procurement process which involved a prequalifying round, tender stage and finally an evaluation/presentation evening.
The consultancy has also provided some schools with operational reviews and contract monitor audits to ensure their services are being delivered in line with the agreement between school and caterer.
