FEM has introduced the Hercules and Ergos frying pan ranges from European manufacturer Pujadas.
Designed to give good performance and long service life in busy professional kitchens, the new models are both suitable for induction, gas, vitro or electric cooking and are available in a range of sizes. The supplier claims the pans are extremely durable and hard-wearing.
The Hercules pan is 4mm thick and constructed from aluminium, with handles constructed from flat iron. Its multi-layer, non-stick coating is claimed to be long-lasting and offers a high resistance to abrasion, while the handles have a heat resistant Epoxy coating. The Hercules pans are also available as crêpe and sauté pans, both suitable for gas or electric cooking.
The Ergos models are made from 18/10 stainless steel with a heat-resistant, ergonomic tube handle. They feature the ‘latest generation’ Excalibur non-stick technology, which forms an integral part of the base due to an additional coating of powdered stainless steel, which should make the pan resistant to the effects of kitchen utensils. The pans’ 0.8mm thick sandwich bottom means it should be suitable for induction cooking. A rectangular Ergos pan is also available, designed for cooking fish on gas or electric.
Both pans are PFOA free and are available from FEM distributors. List prices start from £16.40 plus VAT for the 200mm (diameter) x 40mm (depth) Hercules frying pan.
