Project management course for catering equipment pros


Catering equipment professionals are being offered the chance to further their skills and understanding of the market by enrolling on a new course in Hospitality Project Management.

The deadline to be part of the first ever Continual Personal Development (CPD) course in Hospitality Project Management was this week extended to Monday 17 March.

The 12-week course, which is run by Sheffield Hallam University but is heavily geared towards students learning in their own time, kicks off on Monday 28 April.

The module intends to provide candidates with an overview of the skills required for the strategic planning and structured implementation of projects for international hospitality clients.

It will cover everything from project planning and conflict resolution skills to software scheduling techniques and post-project audits.

The course is one of four CPD programmes being organised this year under the TriEducation initiative set up by CEDA, CESA and the FCSI. The other three are Kitchen and Equipment Design and Production Tecnniques; Hospitality Management Consultancy; and Hospitality Customer Care.

All of the CPD courses cost £1,100 plus VAT to any member of the above trade organisations and £1,500 + VAT for non-members.
