Birmingham-based Catercall Technical Services has successfully installed warewashing equipment at a new nearby event venue called Prestige Suite.
The venue caters for up to 650 guests banquet style, specialising in bespoke wedding day packages.
The distributor fitted a Meiko K200KVPi two-tank rack transport machine complete with a TR1 heated drying tunnel within the venue’s main dishwashing area, along with associated pre-rinse system, roller tabling, water softener and a food waste scrapping trough. This dishwasher model is capable of processing up to 200 racks per hour (3,600 plates), with the heated drying tunnel enabling washed items to be returned to the service points without additional hand drying.
A second K200Pi single tank rack transport machine was also provided within the dedicated glasswashing area along with associated tabling and softening apparatus. This machine can process up to 150 glass baskets per hour.
A colour coding system for the dishwashing baskets also assists catering staff in identifying the different glassware used at the Prestige Suite, thereby reducing handling and sorting time in the wash-up area and simplifying the table set-up process undertaken by the waiting staff.
Catercall’s operations manager Dave Brandrick said: “Catercall predominantly specialises in planned maintenance and reactive service work in relation to foodservice equipment, but we also design commercial kitchens and supply equipment upon request to a number of our key customers.
“Up until 10 years ago we had never sold Meiko but then we supplied and installed a large B-Tronic machine for a major customer. Following on from that experience, we have used Meiko ever since where high quality, high volume dishwashing is required.
“The client wanted the best of the best and in this case the two Meiko machines we installed provide the reassurance of excellent build quality, ease of maintenance and servicing as well as the highest quality wash results.”
