Precision has installed a Bystronic BySprint Fiber laser cutter at its factory.

Refrigeration manufacturer Precision has installed a new laser cutting machine in its Thetford factory.

It will replace a punch machine and is designed to give the firm much more flexibility in terms of how it cuts metal, plus it is said to be very fast.

Precision MD, Nick Williams, commented: “This is the latest BySprint Fiber laser design from Bystronic and it gives us a huge range of options.

“We could even cut a signature into a sheet of stainless steel. The market is demanding ever more specialist refrigeration models, and this technology will ensure we continue to meet that need. Meanwhile its speed will help us increase production to meet the rising demand for Precision products.”

The BySprint Fiber from Bystronic is designed to be very accurate. It uses compressed air and should minimise energy consumption, helping Precision to meet its environmental targets.
