Precision Refrigeration MD, Nick Williams, has been documenting the manufacturer’s experience of the coronavirus pandemic in a video mini-series.
So far three episodes have been posted to the Thetford-based company’s social media channels, with several more to come each Friday over the next few weeks.
Williams detailed: “We decided to make these videos as a mini-documentary to share the experiences of a British based manufacturer of foodservice equipment throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. I’m sure most companies have been, and are still going through the same or similar issues as Precision.”
The first three videos are titled: ‘The run up to lockdown’, ‘Early issues’ and ‘Reality sets in’.
Williams added: “We’re releasing a new video each week giving a chronological account of our experiences so far. The next episodes discuss the tough decisions surrounding cost cutting and redundancies before looking more to the future with the current situation, starting to bring staff back off furlough and making the business Covid-secure.
“The reason for making them was that I figured people might be interested in an honest first-hand discussion about how a SME manufacturer is coping with Covid-19. Hopefully they will give people an insight into how we have dealt with some very tough situations, and can serve as a reference for the tens of thousands of other businesses in our industry and beyond who are struggling with similar issues throughout this pandemic.”
