2018 proved to be a watershed year for Heywood-based distributor, Vision Commercial Kitchens. For the first time its turnover entered double figure millions, representing a 25% growth for the business.
Its 2018 annual report details that for the 12 months to 30 September 2018, Vision generated a turnover of £12.3m, as against the 2017 figure of £9.8m. Thanks to a significant North American project, £2m of 2018’s turnover was generated from overseas, compared to the £0.7m worldwide revenue the previous year. Likewise the firm’s operating profit is now moving in a very positive direction, growing by 20% from 2017’s £0.6m to reach its latest total of £0.7m.
MD Jack Sharkey said of the reasons behind the expansion: “Vision’s reputation and performance has continued to grow year on year. 2018 has been a significant year for us with the delivery of some great projects and a major overseas project which has helped enhance another good year’s financial performance.”
He further analysed: “We have strengthened our management team and enhanced our offering. We have taken key strategic decisions to invest even further in our service department which has resulted in a significant growth in PPMs. These decisions have provided a valuable boost to our capabilities, enabling us to offer a complete service to our clients, concentrate on quality and work closer with both new and existing customers.
“Our projects are the main part of our business, they are driven by our values and the exceptional service and great added value that we provide. A lot of our projects are from recommendations and referrals which is the highest indication of our client’s satisfaction with our work, and something that we are extremely proud of.”
With regards to an overall company plan, he outlined: “Our strategy is ongoing, we concentrate on delivering exceptional service, employing good people and continually enhancing our offer and services. For example, we have recently made a large investment in BIM and Revit technology which has allowed for significant development within our design capability, meaning that we now offer 3D visuals on every one of our projects. This is a significant step change in the business and sets the business up for the future and the ongoing development in design.”
While reticent to reveal how Vision will be moving forward, Sharkey did conclude: “Our focus remains on what we do best, bringing our customer’s visions to reality.”
