From the CAD designers clicking furiously at their computers to create the perfect commercial kitchen, to the engineer sweating away installing and servicing equipment, there are plenty of ‘unsung heroes’ in the catering equipment distribution community.
The Catering Insight Power List Unsung Heroes category aims to ensure that their lights do not remain under a bushel.
This grouping in our annual supplement allows fellow industry luminaries to recognise the tireless efforts of individuals who may remain behind the scenes, content to get their jobs done to the highest standards, without fuss.
Nevertheless, these people are very much intrinsic to their companies’ success.
This year’s nominees come from all corners of the country, with roles encompassing marketing, administration, finance, estimation and service, among others. Their job functions may be different but they are all invaluable to their businesses.
Distributors cannot function without an efficient back of house machine, and many of those in this category help to keep everything ticking over.
Some in the category may play more front of house roles, but they may not have gotten the recognition they should have for their work inside or outside of the catering equipment sector.
Whatever they have done, they all deserve to be honoured for their services to the industry. In 2016 this category comprises:
Carl Doonan, sales manager, Bournville Catering Equipment
Liam Grant, marketing director, JLA
Julie Quilter, administrations and operations manager, Court Catering Equipment
Becky Webley, finance department manager, Sprint Group
Pat Butt, financial controller, HCE Foodservice Equipment
Gabrielle Guile, marketing and events coordinator, Vision Commercial Kitchens
Jodie Duggan, office manager, BI Catering Equipment Services
Alan Davidson, estimating and planning manager, ScoMac Catering Equipment
Steve Fear, project manager, Space Catering
Olivia Hawkins, service manager, Fulcrum Commercial Kitchens
