Police issue appeal for stolen catering equipment

Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary at a Leicestershire curry house in which a range of catering equipment was removed.

Intruders gained access to the Mashwi Indian Restaurant on the city’s London Road and made off with much of the stainless steel equipment from its kitchen.

Fridges, a baker’s oven, hotplates, a chip fryer and a freezer were all stolen during the raid. The thieves also took chairs and tables.

PC Steven Kilsby, who is investigating the incident, said: “The offenders would have needed a vehicle to be able to transport these items away.

“I believe someone out there will know something about this incident. Do you know someone who has recently acquired items matching these? Do you know where they are being stored?

“Even the smallest piece of information could help with our enquiries.”

The incident happened between 11pm on Tuesday, February 25 and 3.20pm the following day.
