Italian product importer Seeds of Italy has branched out into commercial catering equipment by teaming up with mobile food cart wholesaler EuroCarts to make Pizza Trikes for street food vendors.
Seeds of Italy’s MD, Paolo Arrigo, explained: “Aimed at start up businesses or companies wanting to promote their products at events and exhibitions, our Tuscan wood burning ovens, weighing only 55kg, were the only choice for the trikes.”
“Everything that is needed to serve pizza, roasts, stews, enchiladas etc is on the cart, which can also be customised to suit each customer’s needs.”
The ovens are made using Italian-sourced materials and can be detached from the trikes for use if required. They can reach a temperature of 450°C, though normally pizzas would cook at 320°C in about 100 seconds and at 400°C in half that time.
Mark Harrison from Eurocarts detailed: “Eurocarts is a new business which grew from selling hot dogs at the Spanish fiestas to building, importing and selling a range of carts, trikes and bikes for people who want to sell or promote their business in the street. I sold a few of the carts and quickly realised there was a gap in the market for this type of thing.
“Our carts are now all hand built in the UK and we also import the best selling cargo bike in the world from Mexico. We offer a great way for people in catering and street selling to get started with some great value, eye catching, quality products.”
The standard version costs £2,250 + VAT and is entirely handmade.
