Pelsis brand Insect-O-Cutor has introduced the first UV LED flykiller to the professional kitchen market, delivering what the company believes is ‘game changing’ technology.

Designed around the UV LED source, in trials the new Infiniti is said to offer fly catching results comparable to a 45W UV flykiller which uses traditional fluorescent lamps, whilst also offering 67% savings in energy running costs.

The claimed low energy consumption of Infiniti could help to benefit the environment by reducing emissions and pollution caused by energy generation. Its slim profile and bottom loading glueboard feature should also make the unit suitable for areas lacking in wall space and for a wide range of commercial applications.

Infiniti has been developed with three (patent pending) technologies:

  • The Glupac glueboard is located in front of the UV source, which should maximise the useful glue area
  • An integrated heatsink is built into the flykiller to manage heat away from the UV LED strips, resulting in a 3 year effective UV source life
  • The curved glueboard form is designed to provide rigidity to the glueboard and prevent it from bowing in high temperature environments

The Infiniti is 370mm h x 500mm w x 75mm d and weighs 4kg. It is available at a list price of £344 + VAT.
