Panasonic and Regale Microwave Ovens once again leant their support to Zest Quest Asia’s Gala Dinner in the competition’s fifth year.
Taking place last night at the Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5, the event saw hundreds of attendees discover the results of restaurateurs Cyrus and Pervin Todiwala’s cooking contest to inspire catering students across the country to create Asian dishes.
This year’s victors were students from the University of West London, who won a week’s culinary trip to Vietnam.
Other awards were presented throughout the night, which featured a four course Asian cuisine meal created by the Todiwalas’ Café Spice Namaste restaurant at Hilton T5.
One of the accolades was the Best Presented Menu, which was sponsored by Regale. MD Pat Bray presented students from Sheffield Hallam University with the honour.
While Panasonic UK’s sales and marketing manager, Iain Phillips, helped to drum up funds to support the Zest Quest Asia initiative by encouraging the audience to enter a ‘heads or tales’ competition, with two Panasonic flat screen TVs on offer as prizes.
Last year the manufacturer sent the winners of the competition, University College Birmingham, on a 10 day study tour of Japan.
