After an approach to Catering Insight, and an appeal in January through CEDA, Court Catering Equipment has come up trumps with the donation and installation of an electric oven range for the OK Foundation in Tottenham.
The OK Foundation charity, which works with the Canaan Church, asked Catering Insight for help as its initiatives to help feed and take care of homeless people in North London were struggling due to its failing range oven.
Christina Omideyi, chair of the OK Foundation, summed up the impact of the replacement oven range: “Thank you for the generous donation of the electric cooker. The cooker was delivered on Wednesday 4 March and connected on Friday 6 March. It could not have come at a better time. We had a big programme planned for that weekend and what a difference it’s making with a cooker that works efficiently.
“A big thank you to all at Court Catering, and in particular to Mr McConaghy, who handled all the delivery and installation arrangements, as well as our telephone enquiries.
Nick Howe, MD of Court Catering Equipment, commented: “We saw the appeal from CEDA’s Peter Kay and knew we could help pretty quickly with donating a range oven that would meet the needs of the 50 or so people who come the OK Foundation each Saturday, plus others who are helped during the week as and when they need it.
“I’m delighted that the oven is up and running and glad we were able to help provide the hot meals that make the OK Foundation an invaluable service for the homeless in North London.”
