IMC has bidden farewell to one of the industry’s longest-serving catering equipment salesmen.
Kevin Griffith, southern area sales manager at the firm, has retired from the business after more than 29 years of service.
His time at IMC equates to some 11,000 days, over 600,000 miles travelled and in excess of £52m worth of orders won.
Mr Griffith is intending to spend more time on his hobby of photography as well as taking a more active role with his growing number of grandchildren following his departure from the industry.
At his leaving presentation, attended by all at IMC, he said: “It is not without a little reluctance that I am finally hanging up my boots after all these years; my colleagues past and present have all become good friends and I will stay in touch with as many as possible.”
IMC managing director, Steve Witt, said: “We are sorry to say goodbye to Kevin, our friend and colleague for so many years, and I’d like to take the opportunity to thank him for all his hard work and support during that time.”
Mr Griffith’s role will be taken up by Nicholas Gunster, who is joining the company from Atosa. He brings a wealth of experience gained not only from China’s largest commercial catering equipment company but also from sales roles with Marco Beverage Systems, Winterhalter UK and Foster Refrigerator UK.
“It’s an exciting time to be joining the team at IMC,” added Mr Witt. “With recent investments in our manufacturing facility we have strengthened our ability to supply our customers with continually evolving product ranges so, apart from anything else, we can guarantee Nicholas a challenging and rewarding time in a key role.”
