Novameta unveiled its R290 refrigerant development at this year’s Host.

Stainless steel catering equipment fabricator Novameta has given a green update to its cooling counter ranges.

From this month the series is now available using R290 gas, a natural refrigerant said to be non-toxic and with zero ozone depletion potential and low global warming potential (GWP).

Malcolm Morris, UK and Ireland country manager for the Lithuanian-headquartered manufacturer, commented: “R290 is a planet-saving gas for manufacturers to use. You cannot see, feel, smell or touch R290 but with its low GWP it will help to address an environmental issue.

“We have a unique feature with the product, as if a current client has one of our cooling counters and wishes to help save the planet, they can merely switch out the fridge cassette model for a small cost in a matter of minutes. This is best undertaken by a qualified fridge engineer, though it is a very simple process.”

Novameta unveiled this latest development at the recent Host show in Milan. The stand also showcased the firm’s bespoke and standard manufactured catering equipment, an exclusive and bar table solution and a H2 specification hygiene preparation island counter.
