Nottingham City Council is seeking at least three separate contractors to provide catering equipment maintenance and extraction services to 80 premises that it manages.
The work will take place in a mixture of education and social care establishments that the council runs within the city.
Deadline for tender submissions expires on August 19.
The contract is divided into 5 Lots, but companies are only permitted to bid for a maximum of two lots.
Lots 1 and 2 cover preventative maintenance and repair of cooking equipment and dishwashers in the northern and southern areas of Nottingham respectively, while the same arrangement goes for Lots 3 and 4, which encompass refrigeration equipment, freezers and ice machines.
Lot 5 specifically involves the cleaning and maintenance of fans.
The initial contract term will be for two years, starting on 14 October. There is scope for the council to extend the contract for an additional two years at its discretion.
It said that suppliers needed to be aware that throughout the duration of this contract some schools may change their status to academies and may no longer wish to take on this service. Subsequently, the size of the contract could therefore be reduced accordingly.
