Nisbets scales turnover heights of more than £255m

Nisbets has posted over a quarter of a billion-pounds' turnover for the first time.

Catering equipment dealer giant Nisbets has announced an increase in turnover of 12.6% for the year ended 31 December 2015, with sales surpassing the £250m barrier for the first time.

The published accounts show a total turnover of £255.3m and an 8.6% rise in trading profit, to £31.2m.

Tim Carr, finance director at Nisbets, believes the figures represent yet another milestone in the history of the company: “We continue to build on Nisbets’ market-leading position and are delighted to have broken the quarter of a billion turnover barrier for the first time.

“This is a significant achievement and one of which we are all extremely proud.

“The directors are pleased with the overall financial performance during the year and believe that Nisbets PLC is in a strong position to sustain growth and expand its market share.”

This month, Nisbets also launched itself into the projects and outfitting sphere with the news that it has purchased a controlling stake in Space Catering (UK) Ltd, the holding company of Space Catering Equipment, Space Interior Contracts, and Holmes Catering Equipment Solutions.

Nisbets currently operates in seven countries worldwide, including the UK, France, Spain and Australia and now employs over 1,200 people.

As well as having a catalogue and online business, the firm has 16 retail stores across the UK.
