Nigel Westall held senior roles at Dawson, Winterhalter and Hobart as well as Electrolux Professional during his career.

Nigel Westall, head of chains – UK and Ireland for Electrolux Professional’s Food Service division, retired from the company yesterday.

Having worked in the foodservice industry for over 30 years, including sales and senior management roles with Dawson, Winterhalter and Hobart, Westall joined Electrolux Professional in 2010, before taking up the lead role within the chains team in 2014.

During his time with Electrolux, Westall and his team helped to significantly grow Electrolux Professional’s footprint within the national chains sector, which has included working with the likes of Costa, Pret a Manger, Eat and KFC.

He commented: “I’ve been fortunate to work with some fantastic individuals throughout my career, and particularly during my time at Electrolux. To see the growth we have achieved within the chains market in recent years is something I am very proud of, but I can only stress how much of that is down to hard work of the team as a whole.

“I’m now very much looking forward to taking a step back from the working world. We have just relocated to the Norfolk Broads, where I will be within a one mile radius of the Yacht Club, the Football Club, and a coffee shop – so I will be a very happy man.”

He concluded: “The foodservice industry is a genuinely fantastic sector to work in, but it is nothing without the people. To everyone I’ve had the pleasure of working for, and with, over the last 30 years – thank you.”

Darren Lockley, head of region for Electrolux Professional UK and Ireland, added: “Nigel has been at the heart of many of the good things we have achieved on the Food Service side of Electrolux over the last few years.

“As well as being an astute sector manager, generating some of our best-ever figures in the chain market, he is a genuine and thoroughly good person. Electrolux’s loss will very much be Norfolk’s gain.”
